Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR is a lead Centre of Indian Space Research Organization situated at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR has facilities of Solid Propellant Production, a Rocket Motor Static Test Facility and Launch Complexes for a variety of rockets, rocket tracking through sophisticated radar and optical tracking systems and real-time data acquisition and processing facilities and other support services including logistics. Selection Process: The process of selection will be done by the written test/Skill Test. Based on the applied candidate’s academic performance, number of vacancies etc., initial screening will be done and candidates will be shortlisted for taking up written test. Shortlisted candidates can download the call letters from our website. Candidates shall be Shortlisted for skill test based on the written test scores and the required number of candidates alone will be called for Skill test.
The Skill Test will be purely on ‘go-no-go’ basis and marks obtained in the skill test shall not be considered for selection. The final selection will be done, amongst qualified candidates, purely based on the scores obtained in the written test. In case of a tie in written test scores, the academic scores of the notified qualification shall be the tiebreaker. Candidates have to meet the following Physical fitness standards and Endurance Test standards for the Fireman-A.
Minimum Physical Standards:
- No Deformity (inter alia, bow legs, knock knees or flat foot shall be a disqualification) (ii) Height – 165 Cms (iii) Weight – 50 Kgs (iv) Chest – 81 Cms (Normal) 86 Cms (on Expansion) (v) Distant vision : 6/6 without wearing glasses or any other aid (vi) Near vision : Normal (vii) Night or colour blindness shall be a disqualification (viii) Each eye must have full field of vision (ix) Squint or any other morbid condition of the eyes, or of the eyelids or either eye liable to the risk of aggravation or recurrence, shall be deemed to be a disqualification.
Endurance Test Standards:
- 100 meter run in 13 seconds (ii) High Jump: 5ft (iii) Long Jump: 17 ft. (iv) Putting the shot of 7.27 Kg (16 lbs): 24 ft (v) Throwing the cricket ball: 225 ft. (vi) Rope climbing (only hands): 14 ft. (vii) Pull-ups: 10(viii) 1500mtrs run in 5 minutes 15 seconds. (Candidates have to choose and qualify any of the five events given above).
Candidates called for Skill Test/Endurance Test will have to produce all the relevant original documents, including No Objection Certificate, if employed already, in proof of details furnished in their applications submitted online, at the time of Skill Test/Endurance Test. If any information furnished on-line is found to be wrong or false, the candidate will not be allowed for Skill Test/Endurance Test. Written Test examination venue is Chennai only for the mentioned posts. SDSC SHAR reserves the right not to fill up all or any of the posts if it so decides.
